Frequently Asked questions

We really want our family members or friends to be involved.  Can we do that?

Absolutely.  Many people think about choosing a family member or friend to officiate.  I always advocate couples choose a professional officiant and have someone close to them involved in the ceremony by doing a reading or recitation.  You can have both a professional officiant to handle the majority of the ceremony, and still have family and friends involved.

Can you meet with us so we can get to know each other better?

Absolutely.  I always want to get to know the couples I marry and welcome the chance to meet.  I offer a complimentary in-person, Zoom or phone consultation to any couple who wants to connect.  There is no obligation for scheduling an initial consultation.

3

Do you do ceremonies with religious readings?

Yes.  I have performed ceremonies uniting couples from various faiths and have officiated for multi-faith couples.  Ceremonies can be customized to include religious passages reflecting any faith.  I have also performed ceremonies for couples of different nationalities, ethnicities and cultures.

Can you perform weddings outside of San Diego?

Yes.  I will travel to perform ceremonies outside of San Diego, and outside of California.  I am legally sanctioned to perform weddings in most states.  Travel costs can be estimated on a case-by-case basis.

5

What are prices for services?

Rates are determined by the amount of time requested by the bride and groom and the personalization of the services.  I offer a simple ceremony for as low as $400.  Pricing for additional customization and/or attendance at a rehearsal which require more of a time commitment are determined on a case-by-case basis.

6

Do you require a deposit?

I request a 50% deposit so I can reserve the date for you.  Balance of payment is due anytime on or before the ceremony date.

7

What if we have to cancel?  Is our deposit refundable?

Your deposit will be refunded in full if you need to cancel or re-schedule your ceremony for any reason, and can provide more than 30 days notice.   Deposit is non-refundable if there’s a cancellation less than 30 days from the wedding date.

Do you perform ceremonies for same-sex couples?
